Spring 2019

During his spring semester, Colin took a course called Revenue Streams and Sales (SBST 340), where the class participated in a ticket sales competition in partnership with the Cleveland Indians. He was part of the highest selling duo out of the four schools that participated. He sold 26 tickets, generating almost $500 in revenue.

Before graduating in May, Colin accepted a full-time internship position with the Cleveland Browns in the Special Events and Fan Experience department. This is a four month position in the off-season with a possible extension to 10 months through the actual season and post-season.

"This is the exact position that I was hoping on getting, so I am very grateful," he said.

November 2018

Colin is now the Vice President of SpEC. Since co-founding SpEC in Fall 2017 with two other students, the club now has 15 to 20 people attend meetings regularly. On Oct. 19, they attended the Michigan Sport Business Conference in Ann Arbor.

Colin received a scholarship for volunteering with the Cleveland Browns, and accepted his award on the field during the fourth quarter of the Browns game.

Since he came in with about 15 credits with college credit plus and has taken a heavy course load throughout his time at the University of Findlay, he will be graduating a year early in May 2019. He plans on moving home to the Cleveland area, and applying for an internship with the Browns, working with the special events or fan experience department.

Spring 2018

Outside of the classroom, Colin co-founded Sport and Event Club (SpEC), a new student-run organization at the University of Findlay. In March 2018, the group took a trip to Indianapolis for the NFL Combine Conference hosted by Sports Management Worldwide (SMWW). The club members learned a lot and networked with professionals in the sport and event management field!

Colin also learned the ins and outs of a professional sports organization and gained real-world experience by participating in a partnership that the University of Findlay had with the Cleveland Browns.
