Creating an Amazon Business Account

8/14/2018

Faculty and Staff,

We’d like to provide clarification on the Amazon communication and processes. This information is intended for University employees who order University supplies through Amazon.

If you are using your University of Findlay email address as both a personal account AND an account from which you order University supplies, then you will need to create an Amazon Business Account for work.

  • All work purchases must be done with your Amazon Business account directly through Workday (using your UF email address).

  • All personal purchases must be done with a personal Amazon account using a non-UF email address (i.e. [email protected]).

If your @findlay.edu email is currently being used for an non-business Amazon Account, you will have two options:

  • Merge your Order History with the UF’s Amazon Business Account.

  • Split your Order History to a personal email.

The steps to updating your email are:

  • Log into your Amazon account from www.amazon.com, not through Workday.

  • Move the mouse over the "Hello, 〈NAME〉 Accounts & Lists." Select "Your Account."

  • Select "Login & security" (NOTE: You will be prompted for your password).

  • Edit your email to a personal email account (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook).

To create an Amazon Business account:

  • Log into Workday and select the “Purchases” worklet.

  • Then, select “Connect to Supplier Website.”

  • There should be a “Connect” button on the right side of the screen. Click that button, and you will be prompted to continue setting up your Amazon Business account.

Check your email to make sure you received the email from Amazon about getting the account set up. Note: check your junk mail or clutter as well in case the email ended up there.

One you click on the button, you will be taken to a screen to finish the process.

  • Click “Get Started.”

  • Put in your full name and a password you want to use. Note: your password does not have to be the password associated with your UFnet account.

If you run into trouble trying to set up the account, send in a ticket to the Help Desk.
