Thank you to everyone who attended the Workday Student Kick-Off last Friday. We had a good turnout and appreciate those that stayed after for the open session and asked questions. Anne Wells, the Workday Student Lead, followed up with a presentation at Faculty Senate on Monday. We will keep campus notified as more events are scheduled.

Q: Can Workday Student integrate with Canvas?
A: Yes, Workday Student has the ability to integrate with Canvas in multiple ways. Also, Workday Student is not a replacement for Canvas; we will be continuing with Canvas as UF’s Learning Management System.
Q: Can Workday Student track non-academic requirements and extracurricular accomplishments?
A: Yes, Workday Student can be used to track activities such as internships, community service, and study abroad programs. Workday Student can also be used to manage teaching models such as badging and competency-based learning. Transcripts can be enhanced by tracking both academic coursework and highlighting other skills, which aids with the job search process for students.
Note: Even though Workday Student offers certain functionality, this does not necessarily mean UF will be deploying it in Fall 2021. These decisions have not been made yet and will be worked through as we move forward with implementation.

Meet the Workday Student Lead!
Anne Wells is the Director of Finance and Business Planning at UF and recently took on the role of Workday Student Lead. She also worked on the FIN implementation and will be continuing her involvement on the Workday project in this new role.
Darin Fields and Ray McCandless are serving as the Executive Sponsors. Dr. Fields is the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Dr. McCandless is the Vice President of Information Technology Services. They have been involved in the Workday project since the implementation started back in 2017.

There’s a video in the Workday Resources Worklet that walks through what Workday covered at the kick-off last week. To access the recording, log into Workday. Click on the Workday Resources Worklet (question mark symbol and located in the top left corner of your Applications). The video is at the bottom of the list.
