​​​​​​​​​​​​Middle Childhood Generalist Endorsement​

​For teachers currently holding a Middle Childhood Education​ license, adding a Middle Childhood Generalist Endorsement allows you to teach in a self-contained fourth, fifth, or sixth ​grade classroom. The endorsement may be earned in one content area or the two content areas that are not on your original Middle Childhood License. ​Findlay's Middle Childhood Generalist Endorsement provides all the state required content preparation and candidates​ will complete 50 hours of supervised field experience. 


​State of Ohio requirements for a Middle Childhood Generalist Endorsement

  • ​​​​​Holder of a valid Middle Childhood Education license 
  • At least six semester hours of relevant content
  • Three semester hours of methods
  • Passage of the Ohio Assessment ​Exam (OAE) Elementary Education Subtest relating to your chosen field
