Join the Next Generation of Healthcare Leaders

Thanks to a new partnership (announced January 2021) with Blanchard Valley Health System, University of Findlay health professions students have guaranteed opportunities for clinical site placements, experiential learning opportunities and to be mentored by professionals working in their field at the area's leader in health care, located just a few miles from campus.

The University of Findlay is the region’s leader in high-quality healthcare education with 29 different healthcare-related degrees and more than 400 students graduating each year in healthcare-related fields.

Through this collaborative partnership, both organizations are working to encourage more young professionals to consider a career in health care and ultimately live and work in the area after graduation.

In addition to more opportunities for UF students to get their clinical experience at one of BVHS's numerous facilities, the partnership is also expanding the health care educational space on campus and at Blanchard Valley Hospital. One of the new training spaces is a simluation laboratory located at the Hospital where students will be able to practice treatment techniques in a hospital setting. Students will also be mentored by Blanchard Valley Professionals working the field in both a classroom and clinical setting.

To further support University of Findlay students entering healthcare fields of study, a scholarship will be developed in the near future. As an added benefit, there will be discounted higher educational opportunities for BVHS associates.

“The ultimate goals of this collaborative partnership are to keep talent in our region, recruit others who can contribute to the local workforce and ensure elite health care for our residents,” explained Christina Muryn, mayor of Findlay. “Having BVHS and the University of Findlay come together in this innovative, forward-thinking manner is a testament to their commitment to the future of our community.”
