Welcome to the University of Findlay and the Center for Career & Professional Development (CCPD)! We hope to assist you in creating an effective resume, beginning to build a network of people, and searching for internships/jobs while you are at the University of Findlay. The CCPD can assist you in the following ways:

  • Help create an American-style resume and cover letter
  • Search for an internship (CPT) or a job after graduation (OPT)
  • Prepare for interviews and practice skills through mock interviews
  • Learn how to network and utilize resources
  • Answer your questions about the CPT process at UF


CPT/OPT Process

CPT is an internship, training or temporary employment opportunity that is directly related to your field of study. In order for a CPT request to be processed, the following tasks need to be completed. Please allow up to five business days for CPT request to be processed once all requirements have been met.
  1. Obtain a job offer letter from the company, which should include:
    1. job title
    2. job description
    3. dates of employment (employment should not start before the semester or end after the semester)
    4. number of work hours per week
    5. location of employment if different from letterhead
    6. salary
  2. Check Workday for any holds on your account or tasks you need to complete
  3. Register CPT with a counselor in the CCPD
  4. Verify your work eligibility with the DSO in International Admissions
