Oiler Nation Families from the Heart

Oiler Nation families talk about their experience with the University of Findlay.

Rosa Joe and Kim Kelly
"From the first time we visited the campus and had the opportunity to meet with some faculty and staff members we admired the positive, open and friendly atmosphere at the University of Findlay. We are very grateful to the professional staff who are supporting and guiding Kim to successfully reach her academic and personal development goals.  The sense of community gives us peace of mind since Kim is so far away from home." -- Rosa & Joe Kelly

"UF has become our second home to our family through the years. We didn’t know what to expect initially which lead to a rough start. Our son has never lived alone and UF  was one of the closest options for the 0-6 pharmacy program. It was initially difficult for him but he got himself engaged with many extra curricular activities, where he kindly received, and it made all the difference. UF gave him all the support he needed. We are thankful to the terrific faculty and staff who have helped us. One of our favorite things I like about UF is their responsiveness. They have great turn around time and return calls shortly after we leave a message. Anytime we call, we know we’ll get connected. Our son has accomplished a lot, obtained different awards, and has made great connections. We are all looking forward to him obtaining his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2023. We can’t wait to see him walk across the stage." -- Koleola & Abiola Akinmolayan

Reid family
"Our son, William, originally looked at UF because it has a nationally recognized pre-veterinarian undergraduate program. He chose UF because he toured the campus and was extremely impressed, not only with the facilities (i.e., the pre-vet barn), but also with the warm and inviting atmosphere of the campus. During his tour, he learned that pre-vet majors work directly with the animals beginning early during their freshman year. UF’s emphasis on early experiential learning was THE deciding factor for William. He's confident that his challenging coursework will thoroughly prepare him for vet school. As parents, we feel that UF has been a wonderful fit for our family. Not only has William been able to thrive, but we have been able to be involved at a deeper level as members of the Parent Executive Council. Thank you UF for allowing us all to be a part of your community." -- Nelson & Anne Reid

Philpot family
"When sending our daughter to college, we knew she would need extra help with academics. The tutoring has been very helpful for her.  She uses both the group math tutoring and the individual tutors. Our daughter chose Findlay for their western equestrian studies program. With all the experiences she is getting, we are sure it is second to none!" -- Keri & Scott Philpot
