STEM OPT Reporting Requirements
Reporting requirements during the 24-month STEM OPT extension.
Reporting Requirements
Students approved for the 24-month STEM OPT extension have additional reporting requirements in order to maintain their status and work authorization. Students must report to the Office of International Admissions & Immigration Services within 10 days if there is any change of:
- Legal name
- Residential or mailing address
- Employer name
- Employer address, and/or
- Loss of employment
Students must make a validation report to the Office of International Admissions & Immigration Services every six months to confirm name and address, employer name and address, and continuation of employment within 10 days of the six-month reporting date.
The information requested below is required at 6, 12 and 18 months. At 12 months, students are also responsible to complete the Evaluation of Student Progress section of page 5 of the I-983 Training plan, have it signed by your employer and submit to our office. At 24 months / completion of the employment (whichever comes first), students are also responsible to complete the Final Evaluation of Student progress section of page 5 of the I-983 Training plan, have it signed by your employer and submit to our office.
6 Months and 18 Months
