The Exercise Science for Health Professions program is designed to prepare undergraduate students for entry into a wide variety of disciplines, particularly health professions graduate programs.

About the Program

Exercise science is all about helping people live healthier, stronger lives. At the University of Findlay, our Exercise Science for Health Professions program prepares you to make a real difference—whether you’re interested in physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, or another healthcare career. 

Our program gives you a strong foundation in the sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and anatomy & physiology) while also keeping the focus on people. You’ll gain the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to succeed in graduate school and thrive in today’s fast-growing healthcare fields. With multiple pathways available, you’ll graduate ready to take the next step toward your professional goals.

Course Requirements

Students earning a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science for Health Professions must complete the following curriculum.

The curriculum places a strong emphasis on biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and anatomy courses, giving students the foundational knowledge required to excel at the graduate level in healthcare professions. Students are required to take courses dedicated to research and experiential learning, including laboratory coursework centered around exercise and sports science areas such as biomechanics and exercise physiology.

Amission Requirements

Admission to the Exercise Science program follows the general undergraduate admission requirements for the University of Findlay: 

  • Completion of a high school diploma (or equivalent GED) from an accredited institution  
  • Completion of a college preparatory curriculum is recommended, including:  
  • 4 years of English  
  • 3 years of mathematics  
  • 3 years of social studies (including history)  
  • 2 years of science  
  • 2 years of foreign language  
  • Submission of official high school transcripts  
  • ACT or SAT scores (optional) 

Getting Started is Simple: 

  • Graduate from high school (or earn a GED)  
  • Complete a college-prep curriculum  
  • Submit your transcripts, including transcripts from any/all institution(s) you completed CCP coursework.
