About the Role:
As Kalmbach Feeds continues to grow, we are looking for passionate, hard-working team members that live our values and help us develop new ideas, serve customers, improve our processes, build teams, and realize our growth. Our Poultry Barn Assistants will gain invaluable experience within the animal production and nutrition industry. The Team Member in this role will assist in research trials related to nutrition and production techniques. The selected individual(s) will work directly with our poultry production, veterinarian and nutrition teams.
About the Role:
• Hours consist of 4-6 hours per week, including weekend hours
• Assist with feeding, watering, weighing, and movement of birds
• Provide support at the Poultry Research Center for research measurement days
• Carry out and understand the importance of all biosecurity procedures
• Conduct accurate record keeping for weight, mortality, and health of animals
• Perform other job duties assigned that are found to be necessary
Who You Are:
• GED or high school diploma required
• Willingness and ability to flexible schedule to include some weekends
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds consecutively
• Have a passion for agriculture
• Able to handle multiple assignments and tasks around the farm
• Evidence of analytical reasoning and mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide
• Manufacturing or farm experience preferred, but not required
