Whether you're bringing a device from home or planning to buy a new one, we've put together some tech recommendations to help you succeed at the University of Findlay. To stay secure and up-to-date, we recommend using the latest operating system and keeping your software updated regularly.
Connectivity
Once you're officially enrolled at the University of Findlay, you're welcome to connect your personal devices to our campus-wide network.
- Wired Connection: Requires an Ethernet network interface card (NIC) and a network cable.
- Wireless Connection: Requires a wireless network card that supports 802.11 b/g/n.
- Online Students: Must have access to high-speed internet (dial-up is not supported).
Free Access to Microsoft Office Software:
As a UF student, you can have free access ot Microsoft Office 365 Education. This includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more! You can use these tools use on your personal computer or mobile device throughout your enrollment.

Windows-Based Computer Recommendations:
To ensure your computer is running smoothly with UF's network and services, we recommed the following specifications for Windows-based personal computers:
Minimum Requirements:
- Intel i3 (12th generation) Processor or AMD equivalent
- 8 GB RAM
- 256 GB SSD
- Windows 11 or higher
- Wi-Fi network card
Recommended Specs:

Lenovo Special Pricing:
UF currently uses Lenovo PCs, and students are eligible for special pricing through Lenovo. While you are not required to purchase a Lenovo device, your computer must meet the requirements and specs listed above to connect successfully to our network.
