Welcome from Ray

Ray McCandless
As we begin this new academic year, I would like to extend an enthusiastic welcome to all new and returning students, staff and faculty. I am very pleased to work with all of our dedicated, caring, and service-oriented ITS staff plus the entire campus community during this exciting time at The University of Findlay (UF) and in the world of technology.

Similar to all types of organizations, technology within higher education has become a ubiquitous, continuously expanding and necessary component of every facet of our enterprise (e.g. student life, learning, enrollment management, business operations, etc.). Higher education organizations that continue to conceptualize IT as merely a utility will be hard-pressed to achieve success in the aforementioned areas. I am pleased that at UF, our Board of Trustees, President and Cabinet have incorporated IT into our strategic planning process. Ultimately, this enables ITS to best serve all of our users in the best possible manner and fulfill the primary goal of our ITS Mission Statement:

Continual Improvement of the UF Community’s Experience with Technology to ensure Student Success.

The work we do every day is both an important responsibility and a tremendous privilege.

Thank you and best wishes for a successful year!

Dr. Ray McCandless
