Theatre

At the University of Findlay, you're more than a student number. We are eager to help you explore and develop as an individual with talent, career goals, and dreams. At Findlay, you will participate onstage or backstage every semester. You will gain a combination of academic preparation and practical experiences needed to begin your career or go on to a strong graduate school.

As a student in the University of Findlay's Theatre Program, you can earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre, with two emphasis options to choose from.

Two Emphasis Options:

1. Performance
2. Theatre Design and Technology

Why University of Findlay?

  • Small class sizes with a student-centered focus
  • You can be a part of four productions beginning in your first year
  • Career building internships, travel, and study abroad opportunities
  • Direct engagement with theatre professionals in masterclasses and workshops
The theatre program provides a supportive and collaborative atmosphere for its students. Students work within a creative ensemble to grow as artists. Our program is very similar to a small professional theatre company where our actors and designers work together on the entire production process enabling everyone to gain and develop practical skills.

Students of any major can be a part of the theatre program by auditioning for shows or participating backstage. Click here to view the current Visual and Performing Arts schedule.

Preston Eberlyn
"The University of Findlay provided an overall education that allowed me to pursue my passions. One of the truths of theatre is that you have to be well-rounded in order to be a better actor and fully understand the show that you're working on. Coming to Findlay allowed me to double-major in theatre and political science, and become both a better person and a better professional."

Preston Eberlyn '15 | Theatre & Political Science Graduate

Now residing in Columbus, OH, Preston serves as the Assistant Director of Strategic Research Group.
