About President Ludwick
A first-generation college graduate raised in an Indiana farming family, Dr. Richard L. Ludwick brings a personal commitment to educational access and opportunity. He and his wife, Melynda, call Findlay home and have two children and six grandchildren.
He began his presidency on July 1, 2026, with a focus on student success, academic innovation, and community engagement.
Experience in Higher Education
Before coming to Findlay, Ludwick led the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. During his presidency, the institution recorded seven consecutive years of enrollment growth, expanded its academic offerings, and increased institutional revenue. His leadership helped secure more than $120 million in gifts and grants and strengthened partnerships with industry, community organizations, and institutions worldwide.
His earlier roles include president of Independent Colleges of Indiana, provost at St. Gregory’s University, and senior leadership positions at Albany Law School, the University of Florida, and the University of Oregon.
