Transferring from Accredited Business Schools

Screen Shot 2014-02-20 at 4.57.28 PM.pngStudents that want to transfer to the University of Findlay from business schools that are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Association of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) will be admitted on a conditional basis.

The transfer student must successfully complete 30 semester hours of academic work at Findlay with at least a 2.0 G.P.A., including eight semester hours in the major field, before credits will be accepted from an ACICS institution.

The student must submit an official transcript of completed work. The Office of the Registrar at Findlay will evaluate all courses completed at the ACICS business school, and then inform the prospective student of the courses that will be accepted at Findlay. The student and advisor will then determine the courses needed at Findlay to meet degree requirements for graduation. Courses of a remedial nature will not be accepted for transfer. The Office of the Registrar has final responsibility for determining acceptance of transfer credit.

Because considerable business school course work may have been completed at the time of transfer, the following guidelines apply:
  • No less than 18 semester hours of major course work must be successfully completed at Findlay.

  • At least 15 hours must be at the 300-400 level, and no more than two of these courses may be earned through proficiency examinations.

  • Major requirements may be revised in some cases by the Dean of the College of Business where requirements would result in considerable repetition of work previously completed at the business school.
