​​​​IHSA Hunt Seat Competition Results​

2019 IHSA Regionals 

The team had a great showing at the regional tournament, with riders earning first place in five divisions. The top 2 placed riders in each division will move on individually to Zone 6 Finals in Lexington, KY at Midway University on Saturday, April 6th. 12 riders from the regional tournament compete in the Zone 6 Finals, and Findlay riders filled 8 of these 12 spots. The University of Findlay will also send a team of 8 riders to this competition.

February 16 & 17

In the last two shows of the Regular season.  Findlay was Highpoint Team both days, 36 points Saturday and 28 points Sunday, winning the Region for the 19th consecutive year.

Saturday – Emma Price was Highpoint Rider & Alyssa Simin was Reserve Highpoint Rider
Sunday – Payton McClintock was Reserve Highpoint Rider

February 9 & 10, 2019

The IHSA Hunt Seat Team started off spring semester strong earning Reserve Champion Team in both the first and second show. Findlay rider Lizzie Lengling was Highpoint Rider both days while Alyssa Simin tied for Reserve Highpoint Rider on the 9th and Julie Hood tied for Reserve Highpoint Rider on the 10th. Congratulations to the following for their advancement in the field:

The Winter Classic II Tournament of Champions at the University of Mary Washington was canceled due to inclement weather. 


December 2, 2018

Findlay took two teams to the invitational, with their first team placing 9th & their second team placing 14th, out of all 16 teams that competed. Individual awards were received by several Findlay students. A High Medal was awarded to Payton McClintock (10th of 17) and Low Medal’s were awarded to Jessie Hood (3rd of 17) and Meghan Moran (4th of 17).

November 17 & 18, 2018

On Saturday, Nov. 17, Findlay was the Highpoint team with team member Kaylyn Cole as the Highpoint rider and team member Lizzie Lengling as the Reserve Highpoint rider. On Sunday, Nov. 18th Findlay was the Reserve Highpoint team with team member Hannah Tiso as the Reserve Highpoint rider. Congratulations to the following riders who qualified for Regionals in their categories:

September 29 & 30, 2018

Horse Show at University of Findlay

On Saturday the University of Findlay was Highpoint Team with 37 points, out of eight teams.  On Sunday the University of Findlay was also Highpoint Team with 30 points, out of eight teams.

Congratulations to Meghan Moran who was High Point Rider on Saturday, as well as to Jessie Hood and Kira Bidwell, who were in a three-way tie for High Point Rider on Sunday, and Jessie Hood finished Reserve High Point Rider.

Regional qualifiers include: Meghan Moran – Intermediate Equitation on the Flat, and Kaylyn Cole – Novice Equitation Over Fences.

Randolf College Pre-Season Tournament

The Oilers sent two teams to the Pre-Season Tournament of Champions at Randolf College where they placed 10th and 11th out of 15 teams.
