About the Program
University of Findlay’s Accounting program prepares students for dynamic careers in business, government, and nonprofit organizations—both locally and globally. As a core function of every organization, accounting plays a critical role in financial decision-making, compliance, and long-term strategy.
Students earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Accounting, gaining both technical expertise and a broader understanding of how businesses operate. The curriculum builds a strong foundation in financial reporting, auditing, and analysis while also developing problem-solving, communication, and ethical decision-making skills. Graduates are equipped not only to manage financial information, but to interpret it and contribute to organizational success. The program also provides a seamless transition for students who wish to continue their education through the University of Findlay’s Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Hands-On Experience
Applying Accounting Skills in the Community
Members of the Accounting Club partnered with a local nonprofit thrift store to organize and calculate clothing inventory. Through this hands-on experience, students applied classroom concepts to a real business need while supporting a community organization.
Internships
Accounting students gain real-world experience through internships with leading local and national organizations, including Marathon Petroleum Corporation, Nationwide Insurance, KPMG, and First Financial Bank.

There are many opportunities outside of the classroom to get involved, including:
Members of the Accounting Club partnered with a local nonprofit thrift store to organize and calculate clothing inventory. Through this hands-on experience, students applied classroom concepts to a real business need while supporting a community organization.
The Oiler 10 student-run, faculty-mentored marketing and consulting agency, in which students gain authentic hands-on experience by providing support and solutions to real businesses and organizations. The group also has opportunities to travel and learn from agencies and businesses around the country.
Delta Mu Delta is the exclusive business honor society recognized by the ACBSP that encourages academic excellence of students at qualifying colleges and universities to create a DMD community that fosters the well-being of its individual members and the business community through life-time membership.
The IMA Accounting Honor Society (IAHS) recognizes and honors academic achievement in the study of accounting and provides an opportunity for students to differentiate themselves as they begin their career journey. IAHS membership is available to all students who meet the eligibility criteria.
The University of Findlay College of Business and Humanities Dana Chair/Scholar Program provides business students the opportunity to connect higher education with the real world of business. Dana Scholars are chosen each semester by the College of Business and Humanities faculty and are recognizes as outstanding students for their academic and leadership skills. Dana Scholars network with and learn from an area business professional who serves as the Dana Chair for the academic year.
The University of Findlay Organization for the Empowerment of Business Oriented Women seeks to empower business-oriented females by promoting networking, education, and opportunities between any interested students and outstanding industry professionals.

IMA Endorsement
University of Findlay’s Accounting Emphasis program has received an endorsement from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). Exclusively for Endorsed schools, the program allows students to participate in IMA Global Board activities and have opportunities to network with high-level professionals, executives, and IMA volunteers.
Scholarship Opportunity
Recipients of the CMA Scholarships will receive a comprehensive package of benefits enabling them to study for and take the CMA exam at no cost. The benefits include:
- IMA membership for up to 3 years while pursuing completion of te CMA exam
- Entrance fee to the CMA program
- Exam Support Package
- Registration fees for the first attempt at both parts of the CMA exam
- Wiley CMAexcel test bank access for up to 2 years (all regions, except China and India)
