Welcome to Strength and Conditioning

Welcome to the Strength and Conditioning program in the College of Health Professions at University of Findlay!

We are one of a select group of academic programs in the United States that offer a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recognized program. Acceptance into the Education Recognition Program (ERP) means that University of Findlay's academic program in strength and conditioning meets the guidelines set by the NSCA. Upon completion of this major, you will be well-prepared to sit for the National Strength and Conditioning Association's Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) examination.

A Bachelor of Science degree in strength and conditioning is a progressive depth of study in sports science and training theory throughout the curriculum. In addition to undergraduate study, many strength and conditioning students also pursue graduate study in physical therapy or exercise science.

The field of strength and conditioning is a highly respected and valued profession. Strength coaches, performance enhancement coaches and other area specialists are required to possess a wide range of skills and talents. Many NCAA strength training facilities, health clubs, corporate fitness centers, therapy clinics, as well as companies such as Disney, Cirque de Soleil, NYC Ballet, NASCAR and many more, hire strength and conditioning specialists. A working professional relationship with physical therapists, athletic trainers, physicians, exercise physiologists, biomechanists and sport coaches is common.

Our program offers the only Strength and Conditioning Bachelor of Science degree in Ohio and our graduates have experienced tremendous success in a variety of related fields.
